Privacy and Data

The calculators run in your browser, and the numbers you type into them are never sent to a server.

Calculators stay in your browser

The calculators run in your browser, and the numbers you enter are never sent to a server. Position size, margin and pip arithmetic are worked out on your own device, so a figure you type to test a gold position does not travel to us or to anyone else.

That is deliberate. The arithmetic for XAU/USD, where one standard lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01, is simple enough to run locally, and there is no reason for your inputs to leave the page.

Traffic counts and local storage

We keep only aggregate traffic counts, which tell us how many visits a page receives and not who made them. We do not build a profile of you from them, and they are not used to target advertising at you on this site.

Local storage holds your own preferences, such as a setting you chose on a calculator, and it stays on your device. Clearing your browser storage removes it, and nothing in it is transmitted to us.

Third parties that touch data on this route

The third parties involved are the web host that serves these pages, the analytics provider that counts visits, and the broker FxPro once you leave for its site. The host keeps standard server logs. The analytics provider returns aggregate figures. FxPro handles everything from the moment its page loads, including any account application, identity checks and M-Pesa funding. No other processor receives data from this site, and there is no advertising network, data broker or list-rental arrangement attached to it.

Each of those parties has its own retention and security obligations, and each is answerable to a different authority. The host and analytics provider answer to the contracts under which they operate. FxPro, as the entity serving Kenya, is supervised by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA, and not by the CMA of Kenya, so complaints about how the broker handles your personal data go through the broker's own complaints route and those regulators rather than the local capital markets authority.

Nothing on this site asks a third party to verify your identity, and no KYC document is ever uploaded here. Identity verification begins only inside the broker's application, where you would submit the documents the broker requires. That boundary matters: a privacy question about the calculators or the articles is answered by this site, while a question about an account, a deposit or a verification file is answered by FxPro under its own policy and its own supervisory framework.

Retention periods, and the single action that erases most of it

Server logs are kept for a short rolling window and then overwritten automatically; the exact period depends on the host's configured rotation rather than a figure this site can quote. Measurement data is retained in aggregate, where individual visits are not preserved. Functional cookie data lives in your browser and lasts only as long as its expiry or until you clear it. Nothing typed into a calculator is retained at all, because nothing is transmitted in the first place.

Clearing cookies and site data in your browser is the single action that erases nearly everything this site has placed on your device. It removes the functional cookie, the measurement cookie and any cached page data in one step. It cannot remove server logs, which expire on the host's schedule, and it cannot remove anything held by FxPro, which sits behind the broker's own retention rules for account, transaction and verification records kept under its regulatory obligations.

Retention at the broker is set by financial regulation, not by preference, and those periods are typically measured in years after an account closes. This site has no visibility into them and cannot shorten them. If you want to know how long FxPro keeps an application file or a deposit record, ask the broker directly and ask for the specific retention period that applies to your file. Treat any site that claims to delete a broker's regulatory records on your behalf with suspicion.

What this site stores on your device, and the fields it never collects

This site stores only what is needed to remember your preferences and keep the pages working: a small marker for your chosen calculator settings, a flag recording whether you have seen the policy notice, and the usual browser-side records that any web server writes. It does not collect your name, national ID, phone number, M-Pesa number, email address or KSh balances, because there is no account, no login and no sign-up form anywhere on the site.

The calculators do not transmit the figures you type. Lot size, entry price, stop distance and account balance stay in the browser tab and are discarded when you close it or reload. Nothing typed into a gold calculator on this site reaches a server, a database or an inbox, so there is no stored record of the position size or risk you were testing. That is a deliberate design choice, not a limitation of the tool.

What this site does hold is limited to the aggregate: which pages were requested and roughly when, in the ordinary server log that any host keeps. That log does not identify a person by name, and it is not joined to anything you typed. If you fund a trading account later through M-Pesa, that transaction happens entirely inside the broker's systems and never passes through this site. Keep that separation in mind when you judge what a privacy policy is actually promising you.

Broker cookies are the broker's

A broker sets its own cookies under its own policy, and that policy applies from the moment you follow a link to it. We do not control those cookies and cannot describe them for you. Read the broker's privacy notice before you open or fund an account.

This site does not claim to be regulated and does not hold your money, so the data relationship that matters for an account is the one between you and the broker. For the record, FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA — not by the CMA of Kenya.

Affiliate links on this site and how they are identified

Some links from this site to FxPro are affiliate links, which means the site may receive a payment if a reader opens an account after following one. That payment does not change what you are charged by the broker, does not alter spreads or commissions on your account, and does not buy a better review. The commercial relationship is disclosed here and on the pages where such links appear, so you can weigh the source of the recommendation before you act on it.

Affiliate tracking works through a parameter attached to the outbound link, which tells the broker that the visit originated here. It records the click and, if an account is opened, the referral. It does not give this site access to your trading account, your deposit history, your M-Pesa transactions or your results. The site sees that a referral occurred, not who you are or how you trade, and it cannot see your balance or your open positions at any point.

Editorial decisions on this site are made before any commercial arrangement is considered. The risk warnings, the leverage caveat and the note that FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA but not by the CMA of Kenya appear whether or not a link is monetised. If a page carries an affiliate link, treat that as context rather than a recommendation to trade, and remember that trading gold on leverage can lose money faster than an ungeared purchase.

The cookie types this site sets and the job each one performs

This site sets two kinds of cookie and nothing beyond them: a functional cookie that remembers your calculator inputs and interface choices, and a measurement cookie that counts page views in aggregate. The functional cookie is what stops your gold pip value and margin figures from resetting every time you move between pages. The measurement cookie carries no name, no email and no trading data, and it cannot follow you to another website.

Broker cookies are a separate category and are not set by this site. When you click through to FxPro, the broker's own pages may set cookies for session handling, fraud checks and, where the law allows, marketing attribution. Those cookies belong to FxPro and are governed by FxPro's policy, not this one. This site cannot read them and cannot delete them for you; clearing them is done in your browser settings or in the broker's own preference centre.

You can refuse or remove every cookie this site sets without losing the calculators. The tools run entirely in the browser, so blocking the functional cookie means your inputs simply will not be remembered between visits. Blocking the measurement cookie means your visit is not counted. Neither choice restricts access to any page, table or worked example on the site, including the margin example showing roughly $85.50 required for a 0.10-lot gold position at the applicable leverage cap.

Your rights over site data and the exact steps to exercise them

You can ask what data this site holds about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, and object to the measurement cookie being set. In practice the answer will usually be that the site holds nothing identifying, because there is no account and the calculators do not transmit. You exercise these rights by writing to the contact address published on the site and describing what you want done; you do not need to give a reason, and you do not need to be a customer of any broker.

Because the site holds so little, most requests resolve quickly. A deletion request covers the functional cookie and any measurement record tied to your visit, and clearing cookies in your browser achieves the same result immediately without waiting for a reply. An objection to measurement is handled by declining the cookie or enabling a browser-level tracking block. If you want confirmation in writing, ask for it and state the pages you visited so the request can be matched to server logs.

Rights over data held by FxPro are exercised with FxPro, not here. That includes access to your application file, your transaction records and your M-Pesa deposit history. Route those requests to the broker's data protection contact and, if unsatisfied, to the complaints process that sits under its FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA licences. The CMA of Kenya does not supervise FxPro and cannot intervene on your behalf, which is worth knowing before you spend time filing in the wrong place.

FAQ

Common questions

What information does Kakamega Gold collect when I visit?

We collect what a standard web server records, such as the pages you request and basic technical details of the connection, plus anything you choose to type into the contact form. We do not ask for your trading account number, your M-Pesa details or your ID, and you should not send them to us.

Do you store my email address if I contact the desk?

Yes, the address you write from is kept so we can reply and so we have a record of the correction or question. It is not added to a marketing list and it is not sold. If you want the correspondence deleted after the matter is closed, ask and we will remove it.

Does the site use cookies or tracking tools?

The site uses the basic cookies needed to serve pages and may use aggregate analytics to see which pages are read. These record visits, not your identity or your positions. Any commercial link to the broker is disclosed on the page where it appears, and you can block cookies in your browser settings without losing the content.

Will you share my details with FxPro or anyone else?

No. We do not pass contact-form messages or email addresses to the broker or to any third party for marketing. If you choose to open an account with FxPro, that relationship is between you and them, and their own privacy terms apply to what they collect, including anything tied to an M-Pesa deposit.

How long is information kept, and how do I ask for it to be removed?

Contact correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve the matter and to keep a record of corrections, then removed. To ask what we hold about you or to have it deleted, write through the contact form with the address you used. We will confirm what was removed.
